Power
Ranked 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche LT 4WD worse.
"Did not notice a difference in power. Each vehicle accelerated smoothly and quickly when needed on the Interstate."
Handling
Ranked 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche LT 4WD worse.
"I dont know if it was the fact the 2012 was a 4WD vehicle, an alignment problem or what; but the 2013 without 4WD was definitely a smoother handling vehicle."
Looks/Style
Ranked 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche LT 4WD worse.
"Vehicles are almost identical in style and looks. The 4WD vehicle sits a bit higher on its frame; but, both had 20 wheel base; but the 4WD drive is higher on its base to account for 4WD and off-road driving. This was not an important factor for me and I did not particularly like the higher frame."
Front Seats
Ranked 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche LT 4WD worse.
"Cant say that there was any difference in the front seats since I only looked at vehicles that had heated and/or cooled front seats. Both were quite comfortable. I only looked at vehicles with leather seats. Both had manual control for seat adjustment and lumbar adjustments. Both were quite comfortable."
Back Seats
Ranked 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche LT 4WD worse.
"Never been in the back seats but did not observe any obvious difference between the two models."
Cargo Capacity
Ranked 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche LT 4WD worse.
"Dont think there is any difference in cargo capacity. Both seem to have the same towing capacity in normal driving mode, and each has the same passenger capacity."
Family Car
Ranked 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche LT 4WD worse.
"The 4WD vehicle was a bit more difficult to steer, particularly when turning corners. The 2013 LT model was a smoother drive. Safety features seem to be equal in both vehicles. If I had a serious need for 4WD, I probably would have selected the 2012 4WD vehicle."
Value
Ranked 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche LT 4WD worse.
"The extremely low mileage on the vehicle I purchased. Vehicle seems to have been very well cared for. Little use of truck bed, no accidents reported, exterior only has a few minor scratches."
Would Buy
Ranked 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche LT 4WD worse.
"2013 is the last year Chevrolet manufactured the Avalanche. The vehicle I purchased has had a single owner before me. The vehicle is in excellent condition with below average mileage. This vehicle drives like an SUV but has a truck bed that looks almost unused. The 2012 models Ive viewed are also excellent vehicles but its hard to find either a 2012 or 2013 model with less than 35,000 miles. If I really needed 4WD I probably would have purchased the 2012 model; but, 4WD was not critical to me and the cost and low mileage of the 2013 model along with its excellent condition sold me."
