She has never left me stranded, rides Great has a AWESOME stereo and great gas mileage. I dont have anything negative to say EXCEPT I wish it was American made. Very happy with the Sonata. It rides and runs well. Nicely appointed model. The interior and trim is in exceptionally good shape considering the age of the car. It seems to have been well maintained. Its very smooth, agile and peppy with the v-6, but so far the gas mileage is way better than my Jeep Grand Cherokee! Its fun driving a car again.Nov 20, 2023

It is a solid car that has a smooth ride, 27 mpg and a big gas tank, which means over 400 miles on a single tank.Oct 10, 2023

This 2006 Sonata is clean and drives like a dream. Cold A/C, no odors. Excellent shifting and pick-up when merging. Took it to my mechanic and they gave it an excellent review. They said, Someone has really taken care of this car!! Great value.May 27, 2022

I’ve had this car for over a year aside from new set of tires and had spark plugs replaced along with oil changes it was 164,583 miles so far and drives wonderfully I’m not a car person but it’s awesome only things I’ve left to do is AC compressor and tune up for it it’s a 2.4 liter and gets great gas mileage and love to drive it especially out of state. This car looks and drives like a higher end sedan. Very smooth and quiet at highway speeds. Would be great for any driver. Maintainenance is minimal. Runs great every time and provides a good balance between comfort, style, luxury and sportiness! Mar 07, 2015

I purchased this car new and have never had any complaints. Routine maintenance has been performed regularly and the only other maintenance that's been required in the past seven years are new tires and a new battery. The manual overdrive has proven itself over and over as a great asset for driving on icy roads in Denver. I've gotten great mileage and the engine is responsive and powerful.Dec 28, 2014

Really a nice little car. Does great on gas, has options I love (XM, Sunroof) and is very affordable. Any issues we have had have been covered by their awesome warranty. My parents have the new body style, and while it's nice. I like driving my car better. Jul 07, 2014

I had a awesome experience with this car, I used it for daily commuting for 4 years with an occasional road trip. It is by far the best family car I have owned. I have it regularly serviced at our local Hyundai dealer and I have experienced only one tail light issue . Otherwise...zero problems. It is a joy to drive on the highway or twisty back roads. I am on my second set of tires and brakes. This week I will replace the original battery. We fully intend to keep this car forever, God willing.Sep 19, 2013

I love the styling of the 2007 Sonata. In my opinion, it was their best design year. It is a quiet car with solid acceleration and handles well. Takes corners comfortably. It is five years old and still drives and handles like new.Oct 24, 2012

This 2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS has very good handling , power brakes and acceleration are touchy. I love the gas mileage and it is a nice looking family car. Standard Equipment items like automatic headlights, alloy wheels, leather steering wheel are nice things to have.Jun 01, 2012

Overall I liked the car, Hyundai has come a long way on their quality. The engine and trans have been flawless and the V6 power is exceptional and very fuel efficient. I drive 80 mph on the freeway and I can still get 26-28 MPG according to the cars computer. The brakes could be stronger, but they are adequate. Comfort is good, road noise is a bit louder than I would like, but not bad. Maintenance has been routine. Just normal oil, brakes and tires in 105,000 miles. I did hit something on the freeway and tore up the plastic shields under the engine and punctured the radiator, but that was not the cars fault. a new OEM radiator was $120, not too bad. I am recommending that my daughter consider the Hyundai brand in her search for a new car.Dec 28, 2011

I love the way the Sonata looks. It's got very sporty lines that make it look sleeker while it has an incredibly roomy interior. The trunk space is huge and the seats fold down. The instrument panel is very intuitive and driver-focused. The car feels solid when you drive it and the ESC works amazingly on ice. Solid build quality and the performance is great. The only downside is the shifting is a little jumpy when accelerating. Handling is very precise and responsive.Jan 31, 2011

Easy to maintain, simple to drive, and solid
V6 power with better than average fuel
economy. Outstanding performance, durable
build quality, classic appearance, low cost of
ownership, and there is no doubt that is car
is certainly fun to drive for both
short and long driving trips. Nov 20, 2010

Safe sturdy car. Hit a deer at 90km/h, didn't barely feel anything. Good on gas, comfortable cruising car. Lots of guts! Sharp appearance, I would buy another. Plenty of interior room, front and back. The four doors make everything more convenient.Sep 03, 2010

This is a nice car. It gets terrible gas mileage with the 6-cylinder, but it has power to burn (good for uphill high-speed highway merges), the interior is very roomy and the fittings are about the best I've ever had in anything less than a 'luxury' sedan. It handles like a small sedan, looks good, and is cheaper to maintain than a Nissan, if not as solidly built. Camry comfort at a Corolla price, just not quite Toyota quality.Jul 23, 2010

Performance - adequate for a 2.4ltr engine, braking good and handling a bit firm.
build quality :- excellant, 4.5yrs & 101000kms , one accident and no squeaks/rattles.
Appearances:- I liked the exterior more than the interior.
Cost of ownership :- no maintenance cost, highway driving i managed to get 33mpg and got a good price when i sold the car.
fun factor :- Not actually a sporty car or luxury car to have fun but a serious car for commuting long or short journeys.
My experience with this car was good and Ii then decided to upgrade myself to full option Azera 3.3ltrs.Feb 18, 2010

This car is fun to drive. Its V6 24 valve DOHC provides quick acceleration. The car has very good handeling and can take corners pretty quick. The leather is very durable and has sustained 5 years of the brutal San Antonio summers.Jul 15, 2009

This car overall is amazing. I have the 3.3 litre version and it is just peppy as hell. It has more than enough get up and go for any situation. The stock radio is up to par, and this is if you have the MP3 player CD deck. Sadly the head unit is the only thing left audio wise that is stock the rest is aftermarket. Infinity 6.5s all around and 2 12 inch audiobahns in the trunk...sounds great. I would say check the price of owning it as far as insurance goes, I am 22 and a good deal for me stands around 148 a month most other places wanted 220 plus a month and i do not have any tickets or accidents. The car its self is amazing and very solidly built. Get one if you have the opportunity to or at leaste take one for a drive.Aug 13, 2008

I got my 2009 Hyundai Sonata GLS as a birthday gift around June. It has pretty good take-off and she can go.The brakes are really good..just tap n you stop. I haven't had any problems with anything yet and I'm hoping I don't for a while. The paint job is amazing and interior is out of this world. Major upgrade for Hyundai. I get great gas mileage...22/23 in City and 32/33 on Highway. Overall, I think the Sonata is a good car and I would recommend it.Jul 29, 2008
