This rating has nothing to do with me not making a deal. It was obvious that the Tahoe had driver side rear wheel - well body damage along with the rear driver side passenger door and rust issues. We all know dealers use a certain whole sale book to take trades and im real familiar with that book from using it over the years to buy wholesale. The damage was not fixed. Just kind of massaged out. The door edge was literately bent back causing a crack in the paint about 3 inches long. The truck also had more rust on the under carriage than normal. To rap this up, the salesman showed me the folder on the truck as there was a trade for a new vehicle against the Tahoe. We all know dealers never take money off the new vehicle when they need to close a deal, so they raise the price on the trade. He tried to show me the trade was 23K and 1600$ in repairs to the Tahoe. Well 1600$ was all inspections , except for 85$ from the dent man. Also the front passenger fender was an after market ' not an original GM that has a stamp on the liner. but a clean car fax, figure that, lol . Total trade he quoted was 24,600. I find all these useless inspections as fire starting paper, because thats what it is worth, just that. In fact, if these inspections took place, how come 3 items did not work in the truck? One so obvious such as a power window not functioning should have been caught among the other 2 items. Like I said, the 1600$ was just to pump up the trade quote. When I told the salesman that this truck trade had to have the damage I described above, deducted from wholesale, he didnt care or even entertain my question. He even showed me that the dent guy did work on the Tahoe by showing me the folder, I estimated D 1400-1600 in damage still existing on the Tahoe. The truck had approx 94k plus in miles on the truck. Trade wholesale with damage to the truck around 19,5 TO 20,5K. he said they have 24,6K in total trade and they can sell it to me at that rate, well since when does a dealer not make a cent profit, follow me? I explained in a good way that I did whole sale 10 years ago and I still do on and off. I have been having issues finding a clean truck, so I set out looking in dealer lots. I emphasized about the damage and need to get it fixed because it will get worse and start to rust, plus a clean car fax with an after market front fender. His answer to this deal was """"The next person to walk in through this door to buy the Tahoe wont care about the damage, under carriage rust issues and the replaced fender."""" What im getting at, where does a salesman look after a customers best interest? Is his job to hide facts? Not once did he have me talk to the sales manager to discuss issues with the truck and maybe we can come to an agreement and make a deal. I wasnt looking for all the issues to get fixed on the truck, just some. A few dollars off there asking price would be suffice to close a deal, but no, the salesman didnt ask for management to step in. Im quite sure if this dealer back charged the truck as it stated in the folder for a fee of 695$ for inspection fee's, Im quite sure they found the rust , and after market fender and passenger rear side damage. It was clearly seen that the fender was removed, bolt heads all scrapped up and the old round washer marks still etched in to the fresh paint from adjusting the fender to much. Now that I did fact finding on the truck, how much would you bet that the same salesman never tells the next Tahoe customer my findings? I call this being deceptive if so. Disclosure stinks. I didnt mention names because I rather have the dealership read the ad and see if the internet sales manager ( female ) reads this because she knows who she set me up with. It pays to do your homework before you buy from a deceptive dealer.

Response from Gold Coast Cadillac:

We are certainly regretful that we were not able to come to terms with David, we would have loved to see him drive away in the Tahoe.  Unfortunately 94,000 mile trucks come in a variety of conditions, some of which we can not control. Making a 94,000 mile truck perfect is rarely an option.  Hand we been able to lower the price to make David happy we would have.  Unfortunately in this case it was not possible.
