Summary
With 1,488 currently listed for sale and an average price of $35,161.00, 31.0% of 2019 Toyota Tundras for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Toyota Tundra 4.64 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.33 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2019 Toyota Tundra stands out by sticking with a tried-and-true pickup formula instead of chasing the latest trends. Toyota’s approach gives it a straightforward character that some buyers will appreciate for its simplicity, while others may see that same conservatism as a drawback. It also offers multiple powertrain options, which adds to its appeal for shoppers who want choice in a full-size truck.
For 2019, the TRD Pro trim returns, bringing a revised suspension, new BBS wheels, and a price tag inflated by nearly $4,000. That makes this version of the Tundra more distinctive for buyers who want a tougher, more specialized setup. At the same time, the truck’s poor ergonomic design is a notable weakness, and its refusal to keep pace with more modern pickup features may leave some shoppers wanting more.

i have had a 2012 Tundra and 2017. They are a beast of a truck with soo much room. Two things i would change and thats probably it. They NAVIGATION system is the weakest on the market. The screen and apps are actually really bad. Reason why i didnt purchase another one in December. The second would be the gas mileage. I guess that comes with the beefiness of the truck. If the Nav was better, i would trade my truck in tomorrow to get another one.

If the technology inside was updated, I’d give it 5 stars. A little bulky but definitely a work mule of a truck.

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 1,503 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare trims, mileage, and condition. If you find a listing below $33,171.41, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2019 Toyota Tundra a good car?
Yes — the 4.64/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 6.33/10. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.
Drivers consistently praise the Tundra’s reliability, its spacious and comfortable cabin, and its strong towing and performance capability. The review summary also points to a luxurious ride and a truck that feels solid and dependable over time.
The trade-offs are just as clear: the technology feels outdated, the navigation system draws criticism, and fuel economy is a weak spot. That fits the Tundra’s straightforward, old-school pickup character, which works well if you want a simple full-size truck rather than the latest features.
With its broad appeal for buyers who value space, comfort, and capability, the Tundra still makes sense if you want a traditional truck experience. 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 Toyota Tundra reliable?
Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Reviewers describe it as reliable, solid, and dependable, and they repeatedly point to the kind of durability you can count on for long-term ownership.
The expert test-drive notes reinforce that impression by emphasizing the V8’s broad, predictable power delivery and its durability and reliability. The cost-effectiveness commentary also suggests the truck can make sense if you want a long-haul off-road companion, especially in TRD Pro form.
Toyota also includes standard safety equipment that helps reduce ownership stress, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, auto high beams, and a drowsiness monitor. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age-related wear and outdated systems may matter more than mechanical dependability.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Toyota Tundra?
At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing, off-roading, or heavy daily work. Focus on body condition, suspension wear, brake condition, and signs of hard use, since those issues can matter more than the Tundra’s basic mechanical reputation.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base SR includes heated mirrors, a windshield wiper de-icer, a damped tailgate, an integrated trailer-brake controller, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, auto high beams, a 6.1-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker stereo with a CD player. The SR5 adds a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation and traffic info, HD and satellite radio, foglights, and variable-intermittent windshield wipers. The Limited adds leather front bucket seats with power, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, dual-zone auto climate control, navigation, and auto headlights. The Platinum and 1794 Edition add a sunroof, heated and cooled front seats with driver memory, power side-view mirrors with auto dimming, an upgraded 12-speaker JBL stereo, and LED daytime running lights. The TRD Pro adds a 2-inch raised suspension, off-road tires with forged BBS wheels, Fox internal bypass shocks, a TRD Pro exhaust, a hood scoop, a skid plate, and LED head- and fog lights.
- Powertrain: The Tundra uses two V8 options: a 4.6-liter V8 with 310 hp and 327 lb-ft of torque, and a 5.7-liter V8 with 71 more hp and 74 more lb-ft of torque. The smaller engine is stout and predictable, while the larger one brings more payload and towing capability. The 4.6-liter rear-wheel-drive setup is rated at 15 mpg city, 19 highway, 16 combined, while the rear-wheel-drive 5.7-liter can deliver up to 13/18/15.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense includes adaptive cruise control with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, auto high beams, and a drowsiness monitor. Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert is not standard on the base SR or the TRD Pro.
- Infotainment: The base truck uses a 6.1-inch touchscreen, while the SR5 moves to a 7-inch screen with navigation and traffic info. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are not available, and the system does not offer over-the-air capability.
- Fuel efficiency: The 4.6-liter V8 with rear-wheel drive is rated at 15 mpg city, 19 highway, and 16 combined. The rear-wheel-drive 5.7-liter V8 is rated at up to 13 mpg city, 18 highway, and 15 combined.
Which 2019 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?
The 2019 Toyota Tundra is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The SR gives you a lot of standard equipment, but it still feels basic in key areas like infotainment and cabin polish. It lacks blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, and its 6.1-inch touchscreen and 6-speaker stereo are modest by modern standards.
- Sweet-spot trim: The SR5 is the best value if you want a more usable daily driver. It adds a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation and traffic info, HD and satellite radio, foglights, and variable-intermittent windshield wipers.
- Premium/top trim: The Platinum and 1794 Edition are the best fit if you want more comfort and tech. They add a sunroof, heated and cooled front seats with driver memory, an upgraded JBL stereo, and LED daytime running lights.
- Off-road trim: The TRD Pro is the one to choose if you want the most specialized setup. Its raised suspension, off-road tires, and Fox shocks make it the standout for trail use, but it is less relevant if you mainly drive on pavement.
Toyota Safety Sense is standard, but blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert is still missing on the SR and TRD Pro.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota Tundra?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,503 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 61.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $33,171.41, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Toyota Tundra's resale value?
The current average of $35,019 sits slightly above last year's $34,922.
That small increase suggests the Tundra has held value well rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of stability is helpful because it points to steady buyer interest instead of a market that is cooling off quickly.
The truck’s reputation for durability and its broad appeal among buyers who want a traditional full-size pickup should continue to support demand. Strong owner satisfaction also helps keep resale interest healthy over time.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2019 Toyota Tundra safe?
It earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star ratings in rollover from NHTSA, and five-star ratings in side crash tests. Independent testing from IIHS also gives it a mixed result, with Marginal ratings for the headlights and driver-side small overlap front test, a Poor rating in the passenger-side small overlap front test, and Acceptable roof strength.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense brings adaptive cruise control with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, auto high beams, and a drowsiness monitor. Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert is standard on most trims, but not on the base SR or the TRD Pro.
The main safety caveat is that the truck’s crash-test results show its age, especially in the small-overlap tests and rollover performance. That makes condition, trim selection, and feature content especially important if safety is a priority.
Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2019 brings back the TRD Pro with a revised suspension and more specialized off-road hardware.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $37,498, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $35,019 average.
- It leans even harder into reliability and long-term durability.
The bottom line: if you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter starting point because pricing is stable and inventory is healthy. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model-year alternative, the 2020 is the path to consider for buyers who prioritize long-term dependability above all else.
