What’s New for the 2027 Toyota Tundra Hybrid
The 2027 Toyota Tundra Hybrid full-size pickup truck boasts revised exterior styling, an updated infotainment system, the latest version of Toyota’s standard active safety and driver-assistance package, and other assorted new toys. The TRD Pro trim will be available with an exclusive new Honeycomb exterior paint color and also gets red tow hooks and Fox shocks. The new Trailhunter package that’s available for gas-powered 2027 Tundra models is exclusive to SR5 trim and therefore won’t be available with the Tundra Hybrid.
Design
The Tundra Hybrid is available with a choice of Double Cab and CrewMax cabs and three different bed lengths. It’s refreshed for 2027 with a new-look front end comprising bumper-integrated rectangular fog lights and a brighter LED light bar. Available front recovery hooks and Rigid off-road fog lights contribute to both the rugged style and functionality. The Tundra Hybrid comes standard with 20-inch wheels in its lowest Limited trim level, but it’s available with 22-inch wheels or 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires depending on spec.
Powertrain
The Tundra Hybrid features Toyota’s i-Force Max hybrid powertrain, which improves both fuel economy and acceleration compared to the base engine, but it’s only available in the Tundra’s higher trim levels. It features an electric motor situated between the V6 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission, providing 583 pound-feet of torque and a hefty 437 horsepower. The Tundra handles well for a big truck, with responsive steering, a reasonably smooth ride, and minimal body lean. The Tundra Hybrid is rated for 22 mpg combined with RWD and 20 mpg combined with 4WD.
Interior
Both Double Cab and CrewMax versions of the Tundra Hybrid seat five across their two rows. The CrewMax model is the better option for families or big groups, with rear legroom that nearly matches that in front. Standard features include synthetic leather upholstery and power-adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation. Options include a panoramic roof, leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, driver’s seat memory settings, heated and ventilated rear seats, walnut trim, and power-retractable running boards.
Technology
The 2027 Tundra Hybrid features an updated version of Toyota’s infotainment software, with all versions now using a 14-inch touchscreen. Other standard features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a built-in dash cam system that automatically or manually records 20-second video clips from the Tundra’s camera network. The Tundra Hybrid is offered with a 2.4-kW inverter that can power small appliances and equipment, such as tools or camping gear.
