Used 2024 Toyota Tundra for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2024 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 6.57% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,193 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and conditions.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota Tundra earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

The Tundra’s appeal comes from its powerful i-Force Max drivetrain, its distinctive personality, and the open-air driving experience that sets it apart from many full-size pickups. It also brings a strong ride-and-handling impression in TRD Pro form, which helps if you want a big truck that feels more engaging than purely utilitarian.

The trade-offs are just as clear: the design may be polarizing, forward visibility is poor, and the interior materials feel cheap. It also trails some rivals in towing, payload, and configuration variety, so it fits you best if you value character and capability over class-leading versatility.

35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Tundra leans on Toyota’s reputation for dependability, and the cost-effectiveness notes reinforce that long-term durability is part of the nameplate’s appeal. The expert evaluation also points to complimentary scheduled maintenance visits to your dealership, which helps lower early ownership friction.

The performance notes describe the truck as a strong, capable machine with a robust powertrain and serious hardware, while the cost-effectiveness commentary says the jury is still out on how well this third-generation Tundra will hold up over many years. For used buyers, that means the long-term ownership risk is more about proving durability over time than about any immediate red flag.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tundra?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, and pay close attention to how the truck has been used and maintained. Focus on condition, equipment, and whether the specific example has the features you want, since the Tundra’s trim and package spread can change the ownership experience a lot.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tundra’s base trim is light on features compared with higher trims, and the cabin materials and overall presentation are part of the trade-off you should weigh carefully.
• Powertrain: The standard twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 makes 358 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, while the i-Force Max hybrid version adds a 36-kilowatt electric motor and produces 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, road-sign recognition, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking require an option package on the SR5 or a Limited trim or higher.
• Infotainment: The truck can be equipped with a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and over-the-air-connected services through trial subscriptions.
• Fuel efficiency: The TRD Pro averaged 17.1 mpg, and the EPA figure cited for that setup is 19 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2024 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tundra is offered in 8 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, 1794 Limited Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the Tundra and are willing to keep expectations modest on equipment.
• SR5: This is the best-value starting point for many shoppers because it opens the door to more equipment, and it’s also the trim where some important safety features can be added through an option package.
• Limited: This is the smart step-up if you want a more complete truck without jumping all the way to the luxury-oriented upper trims, and it also brings the safety equipment that some lower trims lack.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and more premium content than the midrange trims provide.
• 1794 Edition: This is for you if you want a more distinctive, upscale personality with a stronger style focus.
• 1794 Limited Edition: This is the more exclusive version of the 1794 formula, aimed at shoppers who want something rarer and more richly equipped.
• TRD Pro: This is the one to buy if you want the strongest off-road hardware and the most engaging driving character; it’s the standout enthusiast choice.
• Capstone: This is the top-end luxury pick if you want the most fully loaded Tundra experience.

Safety-package note: blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking are not standard on every trim, so check carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tundra?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,193 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,792, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $44,792 sits slightly below last year's $47,941.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are less likely in the near term. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your best protection is buying well, choosing a desirable trim, and keeping the truck in strong condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2024 Toyota Tundra earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and Tundra Crew Cab 4WD models earn five-star ratings across the board from NHTSA, along with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, road-sign recognition, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking require an option package on the SR5 or a Limited trim or higher.

There is one important caveat: IIHS gives the Tundra a Poor rating in the newer moderate overlap frontal-impact test that checks rear-seat passenger protection.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 stands out for its powerful i-Force Max drivetrain, TRD Pro ride and handling, and open-air driving experience.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $42,777, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $44,792 average.
• It keeps the redesigned Tundra formula while adding an SX appearance package.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $49,041, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $44,792 average.
• It adds new tech features and an available massaging seat in upper trims.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory, and distinctive capability, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want newer tech and are willing to pay more.
