How much does the 2024 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 7.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,118 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota Tundra earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

The 2024 Toyota Tundra is positioned as a massive Texas-built full-size pickup with a clear focus on capability, and it also has a reputation for reliability among longtime owners and recent converts. It is not the most versatile or most capable truck in its class, and it offers less diversity of configurations than some rivals, but it does bring a powerful i-Force Max drivetrain, TRD Pro ride and handling, and an open-air driving experience.

The main trade-offs are its potentially polarizing design and poor forward visibility, along with interior materials that feel cheap. If you want a truck that emphasizes strength, personality, and dependability over class-leading breadth, it fits that brief well. Good and great deals account for 38.2% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Toyota Tundra is described as a truck with a strong reputation for reliability, and Toyota’s long-running effort to build a competitive full-size pickup shows in how much emphasis this model places on durability and capability. The expert review also notes that Toyota’s nameplate is synonymous with long-term durability, even while acknowledging that the third-generation truck’s long-term track record is still developing.

The performance-focused setup is built around a twin-turbocharged V6 family, and the truck’s available hybrid version adds substantial output while still being framed as a serious work-capable powertrain. Toyota also includes complimentary scheduled maintenance visits to your dealership, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is that the current generation’s durability story is still being written, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tundra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any truck you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of hard use, especially if the truck has been used for towing or off-road driving. Focus on overall condition, because the Tundra’s cabin materials and visibility issues make it especially important to confirm that the truck has been cared for well.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tundra lineup ranges from SR to Capstone, and the base SR5 misses some equipment that appears higher up the range. Toyota also notes that blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking require an option package on the SR5 or a Limited trim or higher.
• Powertrain: Every Tundra uses a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6, while i-Force Max versions add a hybrid version of that engine with standard 4WD. The hybrid setup is the performance standout, and it is the one tied to the strongest output figures in the review.
• Safety package: Every 2024 Tundra has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, a road-sign recognition system, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking are not standard on every trim.
• Infotainment: The TRD Pro tested here has a 14-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and a surround-view camera. Toyota also supports over-the-air-style connected services through trial subscriptions.
• Fuel efficiency: The TRD Pro averaged 17.1 mpg in testing, and the review notes that the i-Force Max prefers premium gas. The broader cost-effectiveness discussion also says the Tundra’s fuel economy trails the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500.

Which 2024 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tundra is offered in 8 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, 1794 Limited Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the Tundra lineup and are willing to keep expectations modest.
• SR5: This is the trim to watch if you want the best value, because it sits early in the range while opening the door to more equipment and available safety content.
• Limited: This is the smart step-up if you want a more complete truck without jumping all the way to the luxury-oriented trims, and it also unlocks more safety equipment.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want a more upscale Tundra with a stronger emphasis on comfort and features.
• 1794 Edition: This trim leans into a more distinctive premium personality, making it a good fit if style matters as much as capability.
• 1794 Limited Edition: This is for buyers who want a more exclusive-feeling version of the 1794 formula.
• TRD Pro: This is the one to buy if you want the most off-road-focused setup, plus the strongest performance character in the lineup.
• Capstone: This is the top-end choice if you want the most luxurious Tundra experience.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 comes standard, but blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking require either an SR5 option package or a Limited trim or higher.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tundra?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,118 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $43,611, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $43,611 sits slightly below last year's $47,166.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a little more favorable for buyers, which can also mean future sellers may need to price competitively to move a truck quickly. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later, especially if you choose a well-kept example with strong equipment and a clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2024 Toyota Tundra earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and five-star ratings across the board from NHTSA, with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 Tundra has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, a road-sign recognition system, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors with automatic braking require an option package on the SR5 or a Limited trim or higher.

The main caveat is the IIHS Poor rating in the newer moderate overlap frontal-impact test that measures rear-seat passenger safety. The review also notes that lane-centering assist can behave inconsistently in some conditions.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It pairs strong capability with the TRD Pro’s off-road focus and open-air driving experience.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $41,560, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $43,611 average.
• It offers a more modern powertrain and tech makeover.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $47,859, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $43,611 average.
• It adds new tech features and a retro TRD Rally Package.

The bottom line: If you want the current-year truck with strong market availability and a softer price trend, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer feature set and can pay more.
