Chevrolet Camaro History

The Chevrolet Camaro is often viewed as the quintessential American pony car, the little brother to the Corvette, cousin to the Trans Am, and a constant competitor to the Mustang. The first models came off the line in 1966, and the last official car ventured out in 2002. Camaro fanatics have kept up lively discussion as to the possibility of a return for this favorite car due to a 2006 concept, but Chevrolet continues to make no guarantees.
Trims have included the IROC-Z, Z28, RS, and SS, with 6- and 8-cylinder engines known for both their growl and their pep. Camaros have gone through four official generations, with body types changing slightly, but have always kept the long nose and low-to-the-ground ride.
CarGurus has a forum on the 2009 Camaro. Here's some of the basic information on the 09 Camaro: 6.0-liter displacement, overhead valves (OHV), V8 cylinder configuration, gas engine, 16 valves, cylinder deactivation, 6-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive.
