Alot Of Work. But When Its Finished It Will Be Looking Good. — i think the Camaro is a car worth the time to Fix as is any older car.to bring back something that newer Generations wont know about.. to build with your sons and daughters to teach them what can be known and accomplished. This doesnt really answer the review of the car. seeing as i just got it. once ive been around the block with it ill change it. i just like Camaros

Great And Fun Car — I love having this car. Wanted sence high school, and nw finally have it. It needs alot of work but being a mechanic this is not a problem. My fiance like helping me and driving the camaro special on sunny days withthe t-tops out

Perfect Fit — Looked for years for an 85 to make a project car out of. Tripped over a one owner that was well mantained and all original. Son and I are working to get it back to its glory. Motor work complete. Working on interior now. Then back to blue and gray Z 28 paint scheem. Update. ---- Almost traded my 1985 z28 today for a beautiful 1980 corvette. Deal was almost a done deal but as we were test driving I got a real sick feeling in my stomach as I seen someone else driving my baby. We pulled back up to one another to sign the titles and I had to back out. I could not do it. Have had that car for 16 years. Told wife to write a note on the title "remember the day you almost traded me for a vette". This way if I ever think of doing it again maybe I will remember the sick feeling I got today. Lol. Wife says I a softy. Lol

Pros

Power, Pretty, Easy to Maintain

Camaro — In an age of sports tuners, driving my Sport Muscle is fantanstic. With a V6 2.8L engine i have a fair amout of house power but it doesn't kill my gas bill. Its just a overall fun can to burn around in. If you are considering it, get one:D

Pros

Good handling in curves, lots of top end.

Cons

Sucks the gas, tranny mounts prone to break

25

Fun To Drag Race! — I loved my camaro. It was a coupe but came stock with a 305 V8, 4 barrel Q-jet carb and an automatic transmission (700-R4). That engine threw a connecting rod and was replaced with a Jasper 350 V8. The Q-jet was replaced with an edelbrock 600cfm carb. These cars are famous for breaking tranny mounts especially if you drive it hard. This car was raced a lot (on the street) and was manually shifted (no ratchet shifter, just the stock one) so I went through a lot of trany mounts. Overall this was a great car and was soooo much fun todrive. I really miss it. It is now in scrap car heaven.

Alot Of Fun! — It seems like your doing 40 when your doing 80mph.The car starts very easy and handles well on the turns. It has good power and is very dependable. The interior is in fairly good shape. The wheels are 16 inch instead of 15 inch like alot of them.

Pros

Torque, Style, Looks

Cons

Gas Guzzler, Shape

45

Sexyyyy — Gas guzzler for sure, even for its age the car still pulls its weight, and the 5.0l v8 has plenty of life left, even with 270k on it. The interior is in great shape, minus the few odds and ends that need repair, but inside the car definately doesn't show its age.

Pros

Awesome looks, a lot of torque.

Cons

Old, terrible in rain or snow.

45

85' Camaroz28 T-tops — Acceleration is great it has a lot of torque, but the HP is low due to it coming with T-Tops. Very strong build, I have gotten about 5 foot of air at 65 mph. Although it sounded good at the time, I regret it now and hope nothing was damaged. Amazing looks Interior is just as great. Gas is hard on me, but if you have a job at all this wouldn't be a problem. I'd say pretty high maintnence because of the age, but mine hasnt needed much besides oil changes. =) Amazingly fun car to drive!

Cool Different Car — Rare car, needs to be restored, but worth restoring! It has the 350 tpi conversion, so makes it even more fun and different. Can't wait to be able to get started onit, time and money- never enough of either! Will updated as it progresses!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Cons

nothing

Perfection — This is the best car to own ever. The 305 has plenty of power to blow away your ricer honda's with their fancy stickers and spoilers. Ive owned it for a year, put 20,000km on it. Has not needed a single repair. Its now at 221,000km. VERY reliable car. The interior is simple, i like it, i find it comfortable and pretty roomy, the exterior styling is just killer. I love driving by big windows just to see how cool i look drivin it. Gas mileage isnt the greatest ~20mpg city, ~30mpg highway with the 305 V8. bought it for $1500. wouldnt trade it for anything in the world.
