2020 Land Rover Range Rover Reviews Summary

The Land Rover Range Rover is the definitive word in “ultra-luxury sport utility vehicle.” It’s the perfect example of a no-compromise SUV, delivering superlative cabin space, luxury appointments, power, and capability.

Believe it or not, the current fourth-generation Range Rover is getting long in the tooth. A fifth-generation Range Rover is around the corner, so how has Land Rover kept its flagship SUV relevant? With incremental updates through the years. In addition to new infotainment and safety technologies, Land Rover has continued to expand the powertrain lineup, to the point where there are now six different powertrain options. So does the Range Rover continue to set the standard for 4x4 luxury? Read on to find out.

2021 Jeep Wrangler Reviews Summary

The Jeep Wrangler is an icon. Sports cars like the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Corvette may often be described as icons, but they can’t hold a candle to the Wrangler’s bona fides. It harkens back to the original Willys Jeep and has evolved through the years to be an instantly recognizable fixture of the American motoring landscape.

What makes this all the more incredible is how the industry has changed through the years. The best-selling SUVs on the market are all based on car platforms, and emphasize efficiency and comfort. Yet the rugged, comparatively inefficient Wrangler, which also rides like a truck, is still popular.

Part of that comes from being different from everyone else, but another part is Jeep’s commitment to continually update the Wrangler to meet the demands of its buyers. The four-door 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited accomplishes both, by now offering a Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid (changing with the times) and a potent Hemi V8 (beating to its own drum). Both powertrains are exclusive to the four-door Wrangler; neither is available with the two-door Wrangler body style.

2021 Jeep Wrangler

7/10

The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover was a testament to luxury and ruggedness, a combination that had defined the brand since its inception. Originating from the rugged Series I off-roader, the Range Rover evolved into a luxury SUV with stout 4x4 underpinnings, appealing to wealthy British landowners. By 2012, the current-generation Range Rover had introduced multiple variations, including the HSE, Autobiography, and SVAutobiography Dynamic trims, available in both Standard Wheelbase (SWB) and Long Wheelbase (LWB) configurations. Standard features included leather seating, a panoramic sunroof, and the InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, while higher trims offered additional luxuries like massaging seats and a rear-seat entertainment system.

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler maintained its iconic status with its unchanged styling, featuring circular headlights, a seven-slat grille, and exposed bolts and hinges. The Wrangler's design was unmistakable, offering various looks depending on the trim, such as painted or exposed fenders and soft or hard tops. Inside, the Wrangler prioritized function over comfort, with upright seating and limited legroom. Trims included the Sport, Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon, with special editions like the Willys and High Altitude. The Wrangler Sport was basic, while the Sport S added power features and optional packages. The Sahara offered more street-oriented features, and the Rubicon catered to off-road enthusiasts with enhanced suspension and running gear.

The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover offered two wheelbase options: LWB and SWB, with standard seating for five. The optional second-row captain’s chairs reduced seating to four but enhanced comfort, especially in the LWB version. The SWB model provided 70.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded and 34.5 cubic feet with them up, while the LWB model offered 77.5 cubic feet of total cargo space. The Range Rover featured a hands-free power liftgate with a unique two-piece configuration, making it easier to load large items. The front row included a convenient center-console compartment and decently sized door compartments and cupholders.

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler offered various top options, including the zipper-less Sunrider soft-top, a premium black cloth soft top, and a classic tan soft top. The Freedom top was a three-piece hardtop with removable panels, available in black or body color. The Rubicon 392 featured the Sky one-touch power top, a power-retractable canvas panel that opened or closed in 18 seconds at speeds up to 60 mph. The Wrangler's cabin was functional, with a small center console bin, glovebox, and effective in-door cargo nets. It also featured drain plugs for easy cleaning. The Wrangler Unlimited provided 31.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and up to 72.4 cubic feet with them folded, though wheel-wells and roll-bars limited space for larger items.

The Range Rover also included a fully digital instrument panel and an optional head-up display.

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport came with a basic 5-inch screen, while the Sport S offered an optional 7-inch Uconnect screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims featured a sharp 8.4-inch Uconnect screen with crisp graphics. The Wrangler included intuitive radio toggles on the steering wheel and a color TFT screen in the instrument panel.
