BMW Z4 (2003 - 2008) Reviews, Pricing & Specs

The Z4 is an affordable exotic. I just bought my second one. I got rid of my first to buy a 911, which I still have and wont get rid of. I missed the convertible and the turbine smooth inline 6. They are relatively affordable if maintenance has been well followed. The design has aged well and it looks great, from a number of angles. Love the long hood and the flamed sides. The manual feels fantastic and I found a rare, well specd model with a manual top that is extremely easy to put up and down and has no electrical gremlins or a leaky pump.Mar 03, 2023

I am very impressed with the 2007 Z4 3.0si. Ive owned a 2001 Z3 M Roadster in the past, which I enjoyed. This Z4 is comfortable (Im 63), smooth and powerful. I decided that I dont need to make the additional investment to have an M. This model had the 6 spd manual and the sport package. Ive also had a 350Z and a 370Z Nismo and was thinking Id go back to a Nissan Z until I drove and bought this Z4.Sep 16, 2022

Great vehicle. Very fun and exciting to drive, especially with the manual transmission. Its small and zips around the road. Rides real smooth and handles like a dream. Quick to accelerate, but not a lot of power on the top end. The interior is nice and simple. You have what you need with out the cluster of all the extra crap you never use. I like that it has lots of speakers and an Aux input for Bluetooth connectivity. High quality leather seats and polymer components, like the dash, are holding up almost flawlessly after 18 years. Love the appearance and handling, the sport package is a must have for wet winding roads. The cold weather package is great for the colder months. Excellent quality top with real glass back window w/defroster, heated side mirrors and heated windshield washer nozzle's come in very handy in the winter months. Acceleration is fast, braking is great and I always feel comfortable regardless of the weather. Love the speed sensing wipers and the rain sensor. Most maintenance can be done by yourself, I've not had to take it to BMW but once, for a sensor that didn't reset itself. Jan 02, 2015

Manual transmission is so much fun, lets you connect to the car, acceleration, cornering, easy to drive, German build quality, reliability. Beautiful, smooth, quick, economical, AC/AM/FM/CD. Very well equipped. Premium Pkg: Power top, windows, Automatic Climate Control, driver/passenger power seats, computer, BMW Assist, Leather. Its hard for me to believe this car is 9 years old. It handles like a dream. Entering the freeway or passing at highway speed is a breeze. It practically begs you to take the long way home and find a twisty road. I've had it about 11 months and can never go back. Maintenance does cost more but in my case it's because I actually care about making sure the car is in great shape. In the past I've driven cars for months with the engine light on and it never phased me. Now I'm actually doing a legitimate maintenance plan. My advice skip the Starbucks or expensive dinner once a month and stick that money in your BMW account and have fun.Apr 02, 2012

Awesome car overall. No problems at 80k! Handles like it's on rails and it's very quick! No repairs except for scheduled oil changes. I get up to 30 mpg's on the highway which is great for a sports car! Interior is awesome and the fit and finish is great. Seats feel great too. The fun factor is the reason you buy these cars. Lots of looks, lots of grip and plenty of power with the low weight of the car. Oct 31, 2011

I love this car. Performance is great, its a canyon carver so the suspension is alittle hard, but there is no body roll in the turns. Brakes are where you need them and the steering is exact, almost toy like. Some my like that feel and others don't. You sit low to the ground for that roadster feel and the body lines are to die for. its gets about 21 city and 29 highway so not to bad, for a sports car. Oil changes can be expensive, but changed only after every 10k miles. I always but 91, alittle more expensive but worth it. Fun to drive? Hell to the yesSep 29, 2010

This car is so amazing. By far a tipped hat to the engineering. 3.0 inline 6 with an SMG transmission. Black with red leather interior. 18 inch BBS/BMW wheels make this car look amazing. The navigation system in the car is very fun to play with as well. It gets over 30 mpg on the highway which is awesome, I've never had a car that could do that, let alone be this sexy. You will not find a car with these options anywhere around here. The m sport seats, smg tranny, premium pack, sports pack, conv pack, navi. Its nearly one of a kind and the SMG transmission cannot be purchased with this car in the USA anymore. Euro still has it, but Americans apparently didn't bite on it. Its nearly perfect.Nov 02, 2007
