Summary
With 103 currently listed for sale near Baltimore, MD and an average price of $21,828.00, 39.8% of 2018 Toyota Siennas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 Toyota Sienna 4.4 / 5 stars.
82.5% of 2018 Sienna models on CarGurus are accident free.
The 2018 Toyota Sienna features a spacious interior, optional all-wheel drive, and a standard suite of safety technologies, making it a practical choice for families.
Why it stands out
The 2018 Toyota Sienna distinguishes itself in the minivan segment with its unique all-wheel drive option, which is not commonly found among competitors. This feature, combined with a robust 296-horsepower V6 engine, provides a blend of performance and practicality that appeals to families needing versatility. The Sienna's spacious interior is designed for comfort, accommodating up to eight passengers, and offers ample cargo space, making it ideal for family trips and daily errands. While some users have noted the absence of certain modern tech features, the inclusion of Toyota Safety Sense as standard equipment enhances its appeal by providing advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. Overall, the Sienna remains a solid choice for those prioritizing reliability and space, despite some concerns regarding its crash-test ratings compared to rivals.

We have owned Siennas for 14 years, and they are wonderful! Super dependable, low maintenance expenses as it never has an issue (basically just change the oil and rotate the tires). By the way, were retired and still love it!

Prices have softened 5.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

If you find a listing below $20,450.77, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2018 Toyota Sienna a good car?
Generally — the 2018 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Cost effectiveness.
Drivers consistently praise its spaciousness, reliability, and all-wheel drive capability, and the overview points to a family-friendly cabin with room for up to eight passengers and plenty of cargo space. That combination makes it especially appealing if you want a practical minivan for family duty, road trips, and everyday hauling. The market also shows 32.9% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2018 Toyota Sienna reliable?
Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback highlights reliability, spaciousness, and a dependable feel, while the expert review also points to a deserved reputation for dependability. Toyota’s free scheduled maintenance for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles adds a helpful ownership perk, and the overall package suggests a minivan you can count on for regular family use. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure prior wear, maintenance history, and accident history don’t undercut that dependable reputation.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota Sienna?
At 55.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a lower-than-average price. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and evidence of prior bodywork so you can separate a clean, well-kept van from one that has been repaired after a collision. If possible, pay extra attention to how the safety and convenience features operate during a test drive.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base L trim gets a Scout connected navigation system and more USB ports, while all trims except the L add Safety Connect subscription services and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. The SE adds sport-tuned styling and chassis tuning, but blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard on it.
- Powertrain: The Sienna uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 296 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic. AWD is available only on LE, XLE, and Limited, and the review notes that the transmission can occasionally hesitate in low-speed transitions.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on SE and standard on XLE and Limited.
- Infotainment: The base L gets a Scout connected navigation system, while all trims except L include Safety Connect and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. A premium JBL sound system is limited to the Limited trim, and the SE, XLE, and Limited can be equipped with a split-screen rear-seat entertainment system that streams Android content.
- Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle returned 18.9 mpg on the review loop, versus an EPA estimate of 22 mpg in combined driving.
Which 2018 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?
The 2018 Toyota Sienna is offered in 5 trim levels: L, LE, SE, XLE, Limited.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The L is the most stripped-down version, and it misses some of the convenience and connectivity upgrades found higher up the range. It also does not get Safety Connect or the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
- Sweet-spot trim: The XLE is the best all-around choice if you want a stronger mix of comfort and safety equipment, since it adds the available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard equipment while also qualifying for AWD.
- Premium/top trim: The Limited is the most feature-rich choice, with the premium JBL sound system available only here and the option for the most advanced tech package, including the surround-view monitoring system.
- Off-road trim: None of the trims are really aimed at off-road use, so there isn’t a special daily-driver caution to flag here.
Toyota Safety Sense is standard across the lineup, but the L trim still misses some of the connected and convenience features found on higher trims.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota Sienna?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 944 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.48% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 55.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $20,450.77, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 Toyota Sienna's resale value?
The current average of $21,360 sits slightly below last year's $22,598.
That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now if you plan to keep the van for several years. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and feature content than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples with strong equipment and clean history should hold up better than rougher ones.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2018 Toyota Sienna safe?
It does not earn a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and in the driver’s-side small overlap frontal test it gets an Acceptable rating rather than Good. In federal testing, it earns a four-star frontal-impact rating from NHTSA, and NHTSA has not rated it for side-impact protection.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Safety Connect is also included on most versions, adding automatic collision notification, emergency assistance, and roadside assistance. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on the SE and standard on XLE and Limited.
Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 55.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.48% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2018 stands out for standard Toyota Safety Sense and the availability of AWD, which make it a strong family-focused pick.
The bottom line: If you want a roomy, dependable minivan with strong standard safety tech and the option of AWD, the 2018 is a sensible year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the cleanest, best-maintained examples and use the softer market to negotiate rather than stretching for a higher-mileage van with a questionable history.
