CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Toyota Tundra
overall

Summary
With 1,043 currently listed for sale and an average price of $23,975, 30.4% of 2015 Toyota Tundras for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Toyota Tundra 4.18 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.
57.1% of 2015 Tundra models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Toyota Tundra stands out as a full-size truck with a strong personality, especially in TRD Pro trim. Toyota’s own description of the TRD Pro Series engine emphasizes its lumpy, chuffing, machine-gun exhaust note, and the bright orange Tundra TRD Pro Series is described as tough to ignore thanks to special detailing and paint. That gives the truck a more distinctive presence than many of its rivals, while the TRD Pro suspension upgrades add to its appeal for buyers who want a more specialized, rugged-feeling version of the Tundra.
At the same time, the 2015 Toyota Tundra is not without compromises. It is described as having a thirsty engine and a lack of key safety features, and getting aboard is noted as a challenge. Even so, it remains a worthy alternative to the most popular full-size trucks, and owner feedback reinforces its strengths in power, reliability, and a comfortable ride, along with its usefulness for towing and heavy work. Fuel economy and interior features, however, are recurring weak points.

Reviewed a 2015 Toyota Tundra on Dec 23, 2025
The 2015 Toyota Tundra is an exceptionally solid, dependable truck that prioritizes durability and long-term reliability over flashy trends. The 5.7L V8 is smooth, powerful, and proven, making it excellent for towing, hauling, and everyday driving. The ride is comfortable for a full-size truck, and the interior—especially in higher trims like the 1794 Edition—feels well-built and thoughtfully designed. This truck really shines in build quality and longevity. It’s a great value for anyone who plans to keep their vehicle for many years rather than constantly upgrading. While it doesn’t have the latest infotainment tech or fuel efficiency of newer models, what it offers instead is peace of mind, simplicity, and strength. I would compare it to the Ford F-150 or Ram 1500 of the same era, but the Tundra stands out for reliability and low long-term ownership costs. If you want a truck that just works, this is it.

How much does the 2015 Toyota Tundra cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $23,965 |
| Year-Round Low | $22,849 |
| Year-Round High | $24,326 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $24,079 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −0.47% |
Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 1,053 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.
Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra a good car?
Generally — 4.18/5 from owners and 7.83/10 from expert testing point to a truck that lands well with shoppers who want power, reliability, and a comfortable ride. The owner feedback repeatedly highlights its towing strength and usefulness for heavy work, while also noting that fuel economy and interior features are weaker points. In use-case terms, the 2015 Tundra fits you best if you want a full-size truck with a strong personality and real work-truck credibility rather than the latest efficiency or cabin tech. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology. With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra reliable?
Owners rate it 4.18/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner summary points to reliability as a strength, and the expert notes also describe the truck as dependable over time. Toyota’s free scheduled maintenance program for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles adds a little ownership cushion early on. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a truck this capable may have been worked hard, so condition and maintenance history matter.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Tundra?
At 57.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of the truck’s body, undercarriage, and suspension. Because this model is often used for towing and heavy work, pay close attention to wear that could point to hard use. You should also make sure the cabin features and safety equipment match the trim you’re considering, since some versions leave out useful tech.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The TRD Pro stands out with Toyota Racing Development off-roading hardware, including upgraded shocks, a higher ride height, a front skid plate, dual exhaust, and styling enhancements. It is offered on Double Cab or CrewMax versions, and the available blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is not included on the TRD Pro.
- Powertrain: The TRD Pro uses a 5.7-liter V8 with 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is rated to tow 9,800 pounds and carry a payload of 1,575 pounds, and the truck’s fuel economy is a weak point.
- Safety package: Safety Connect services are not available on any Tundra. A blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is available in some versions, but not the TRD Pro. A reversing camera is standard.
- Infotainment: The TRD Pro gets a 7-inch touchscreen, navigation, HD Radio, traffic/weather data services, iTunes song-tagging capability, and a quick-charge USB port. It cannot be upgraded to the JBL premium audio system offered in other versions.
- Fuel efficiency: The truck’s week-long average was 14.5 mpg, and official estimates are 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highway.
Which 2015 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?
The 2015 Toyota Tundra is offered in 1 trim level: TRD Pro.
Here's the short version:
The TRD Pro: is the clear pick if you want the most distinctive and specialized version of this truck. It adds Toyota Racing Development off-roading hardware, a more aggressive exhaust note, upgraded shocks, a higher ride height, and a front skid plate, so it suits you best if you want a rugged-feeling Tundra with extra attitude. It also gets the premium Entune App Suite setup with a 7-inch touchscreen and navigation, but it cannot be upgraded to the JBL premium audio system offered in other versions. Safety Connect services are not available on any Tundra, and the blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is not included on the TRD Pro.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota Tundra?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

If you find a listing below $22,849, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Toyota Tundra's resale value?
The current average of $23,965 sits slightly below last year's $24,079.
That small decline suggests the market has stayed fairly stable, which is helpful if you plan to sell later. A truck that holds close to its prior-year value usually gives you a more predictable ownership cost. Strong demand for full-size trucks also helps support pricing when the vehicle is in good condition and properly maintained.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.18/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra safe?
The 2015 Toyota Tundra earns four-star ratings from NHTSA and Good commendations from IIHS in all assessed tests.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Safety Connect services are not available on any Tundra, even though the system normally includes automatic collision notification and an SOS emergency button. A blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is available in some versions, but not the TRD Pro. A reversing camera is standard, which helps given the truck’s high seating position and size. One caveat is that the IIHS small overlap frontal impact test has not been assessed.
Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 57.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.18/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- It pairs TRD Pro attitude with strong towing ability and dependable long-term appeal.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $22,457, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $23,965 average.
- It feels especially well matched to real truck use.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $25,388, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $23,965 average.
- It adds an upgraded Entune system and more convenience features.
The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of price stability, owner satisfaction, and distinctive TRD Pro character, the 2015 is the better target. If your priority is spending less, the 2014 is the value-minded alternative; if you want a bit more convenience tech and can pay more, the 2016 is the step-up choice.
