Triumph Spitfire Questions Any type

We want to tow our Spitfire behind our RV and are wondering what is the best way to do this.
I have tried spraying WD40, tapping it with a hammer, detaching the hand brake cable, releasing brake fluid, and lastly put a torch to it. I am not sure what to do next.
Does a 1975 Spitfire with H pattern shift have to be in nuetral to start the car? Or should it start when just having the clutch depressed?
