okay, evap system~ be sure the gas cap is on, and that when you filled up, you only took it to the "first click"...if just fillin' it up until the first click next time and NOT tryin' to top it off, this problem will go away~ if not use the obd-II scan port to read then RESET the trouble codes~

and that's P0420 not 420....which university again?~

Actually a code P0420 is for the catalytic converter. It's not working properly. However, before condemning the catalytic converter check the downstream oxygen sensor for proper operation. Also, make sure you don't have an engine problem which caused the converter to fail. Such as a misfire, oil burning, or an internal coolant leak. If your car has high mileage the converter probably just died of natural causes. HTH. -Jim
