Leaked all trans fluid out

My mom has a 07 PT cruiser the car has
been making a roaring noise for a couple
months she parked it a few nights ago and
when she went to get in it the trans fluid was
on the ground she put more in it and it all
leaked out

Wow, that is a major leak. Tell her to have it towed to a garage for repair.

    cruiser cranks and cranks but it does not turn over and start. I do not smell fuel at all during this process. could it be anything but the fuel pump. Also, could a diagnostic test tell me the answer?
