I have no idea what the millage is for when problems are expected but my 1997 ES300 has 126,383 miles and the only problems I have had are an oil seal or two and a sensor but nothing that serious.

Thanks! The car I am looking to buy has had major work done (Belts, water pump etc) and had 180 000 miles on it, so I expect the transmission will need repairs shortly which can be costly

honestly bro,my mechanic says that car can reach 300k miles without a problem if u just do the proper maintenance.its a solid car,ive had it for 3 years and i just change oil/tires.nothing else.plus, depends how u treat it,i treat mine mean,i race, shif to 2 for more torque, and back to D for racing while drivin and its smooth as hell for a 1997 lexus.

I have a 1997 Lexus ES 300 with 245,000 miles and I have NEVER had any problems with this vehicle. Now, I have taken very good care of this car, service has always been done on time, the first 100,000 miles I took it to the Lexus dealership and had it serviced which cost around 1,000 and when I entered 200,000 miles I did the same but in has been worth every penny of it. I have had this car for 11 years, I have gotten my money out of this car for sure plus I love this car! The outside is in perfect condition the inside, drivers seat is worn and has a tear in the leather but hey what can you expect. I now own a Mercedes Benz C300 and I feel like I have made a terrible mistake, if I had it to do over with I would have stayed with the Lexus and I would recommend the Lexus over the Benz any day.

I have a 95 ES300 with 147,000 and a 2003 RX with 85,000 miles. I have not had any major work done to either of them. Be good to your Lexus and it will be good to you. Regular maintenance is the key. My engines are strong and shift fine. The ONLY problem I have had with my 95 is the speedometer needle and RPM needle have had to be replaced. These are really good cars and I have owned nothing but Toyota products for 20 years.

277,000 miles my 98 es300 is as nice as a new one with the exception of my 2016 Fsport es200t which is the smartest vehicle i will ever own. so, buy a new one or save a heap and buy a used one if properly maintained will exceed 300,000 miles. thanx TOYOTA! Sandy tracy ca.
