Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This 2015 Dodge  dart keeps dying on me!
It’s a automatic, but during rush hour, I feel
It’s a standard due to having to use both
feet just to keep it cranked. The engine
light comes on, however it decides to go
off once I get somewhere that can check
the codes, and they look at me crazy
cause the light is not on and it will seem to
be running ok, then. It either will die, or act
like it has no power, or as if some bad gas
or missing? I hate this car! Somebody help,
please!!!!!!

Yes I just read the same thing, well all I know is I have to work, and the car is not wanting that to happen. Thank you for your answer.

Check oil level. Dart’s are designed to shut down when oil levels get too low to protect the engine.

Dodge darts have a issue with the piston rings installed improperly causing extreme oil consumption, most people don’t realize it because the car doesn’t leak or smoke. Brand new dart with 23k miles would eat 1QT every 1000 miles. I kept it topped off every week for a year until trade in time.

Is it the timing chain or fuel pump cause it didn’t have any oil on the stick so I bought oil to put in it and it still wouldn’t start

I have 2013 Dodge that I just had serviced because of the cheep plastic piece they had on it. My car would start drive somewhere then die. We would get it towed for it to start when we got home. So we took to shop and It died on there doorstep. They charged me 1000$ to fix it. Said it was the cable. Then as we are driving a week later my husband hits the car and something breaks again. Now we loose power every time he try’s to drive it he has to go under 30 mph because it won’t gain power. The code reader says major engine failure and that one of the Cylinders is blow out. Soooo Carmax won’t take this crap back I haven’t driven this car in like 8 months because it keeps breaking I need this car gone.

I just dumped $1k into my 2015 dodge dart. I bought it in March of this year too. Damn thing has a bad cat already and is bogging out on me. Not sure why. I ended up spending $1,000 to fix a couple evap codes, got a new template valve (other one was stuck open) and it ran so great. Now its bogging out again. I was told the cat was bad when I dumped this 1k in it last month, but was hoping to get more than 4 weeks before having to dump another $300 + parts and labor. I cannot wait to get rid of this car. Hasn't been a year and I've sank over 2k into it. Can't trade it in because trade in value is 4k, I owe 7k. I've always loved Dodge trucks but never again will I get a car from them.
