I really liked this civic a lot. I had it for over 10 years and it was reliable and ran well even after 200,000 miles. It was a great vehicle for commuting or for a small family. It really served me well.May 16, 2014

Owned this car for 14 years and couldn't be more pleased. It got us from A to B very efficiently. It was my wife and I's first car purchase and has not let us down. It handled the addition of a couple of children just fine. Still has life left.Mar 28, 2014

Nothing flash, but everything is done right. The car has over 210000 miles on it and still runs like a top. I get almost 30 mpg combined and I don't have a light foot. Frankly this car will run forever if you take proper car of it, and probably even if you don't.Mar 26, 2014

This car is great for anyone needing to save gas. It is dependable, great running and slightly sporty! Perfect for young drivers or small families needing a gas saving ride. I would recommend it to any one who asks for this style vehicle.Dec 20, 2013

I bought it used, expecting a couple more years. The Civic would have none of that, and for about $800 repairs a year to pass inspection it's kept going four years. Change the oil and filter and put gas in it. I would buy another with few reservations, depending on my needs. I'd prefer something a bit larger/taller, and may even forego the 5-speed in my next car.
Update: Sold in 2013 at 230k with rusted and leaking fuel and brake lines, assuming the car would be cannibalized, but the Civic would have none of that either - someone put a lot into it and the car's still on the road in May of 2015!Nov 21, 2012

Little Honda has done it again!!! First and only Honda car I had. I loved it. It was a zipper!! In and out of traffic it handled the road well. Quick, respnsive and FUN!!!. Only issue I had with it was the clutch went out and destroyed the passenger axle. After that the car did anything I asked besides off road driving. Sporty little car!!!Sep 18, 2012

Not the most powerful car but I loved everything else about it. Bought it new and traded it in with 116,000 miles. Always got me where I needed to go. 34 mpg normal driving. 39 mpg with mostly highway driving. Double wishbone suspension made it handle great. My favorite of all the cars i have owned. I regret trading it in when I did and wish I had kept it longer.May 19, 2012

You can't go wrong with a honda hatch... Fun, affordable and about as
modifiable as a car can get. I have Skunk2 suspension & Wilwood brake
upgrades, AEM intake, exhaust and header ,D16Y8 vtec head, SiR interior,
CTR steering wheel...: Probably more to come ! :) Feb 20, 2011

Well if you buy the car completely stock the performance is like that of a Toyota Prius. Performance will most definitely improve the more it is built up. The car does get loud at higher MPH's thats about it. Overall this car is pretty fun to drive and i would recommend it for a beginner tuner.Jan 17, 2011

This car has never let me down. One of the best types of car you could ever have. I have pushed this car to almost red lineing and it still is in the best shape for its age. Overall perfect.Sep 28, 2010

I loved this car. Was very reliable, great at gas, decent hp, good clutch, smooth gears. Stock speakers were excellent. Great handling. Perfect commuting car, definitely a good kick-it car. The body is decent, its not beautiful nor ugly. The parts quality however is very low. Comfortable, everything works. Just a very reliable, money saving, perfect car.Jun 20, 2010

fast acceleration and on the dime stop brakes. smaller car so easier handling. sturdy body. about 40 MPG and easy maintenance and havent had any major issues. Fun car to drive. it has been reliable for me the entire time I have had it. I have had to put virtually no money in this car and it always seems to run perfectly, low purchase price, decent styling.Apr 22, 2010

I love my car! It looks really nice cause it's been taken
care of, the gas mileage is great, and it's fun to drive. I
wish it had a bigger engine then the little four-
cylinder.. but I can live I suppose haha! It's not riced
out which makes it the best!Jan 18, 2010

Proud owner of a ´97 CGM EJ9 iS Shortshift.
EJ9 means it was an EDM-spec car powered by Hondas D14A4-engine.
Performance: 1.4 @ 90hk ment that my car was not a sports car nor was it a snail. My engine loved revs over 4500. In that zone it went like a bullet.
Build Quality: Superb Honda Quality. No rattling noices. Everything just works.
Apperance: 6th Gen Civics has a very good apperance. They just looks good!
Cost of Ownership: Because the Civic is very popular with the young people its insurance is a bit high. On the contrary serviceing is cheap, because it never breaks down. I just changed my frond brake pads under a five year long ownership... the 1.5 VTEC engine is more economical than the 1.4 but its down to 0.5 liter in AVG. mine got me about 550 km on 40 liter of gas.
Fun Factor: The Civic is a very stable yet entertaing car to drive... quite sporty almost firm handling. Cut corner like a GO-KART.
I can recomend you a 6th Gen CIvic 100%Dec 15, 2009

Keeps running with very low maintanence. very tolerant to abuse...my poort little car.
Acceleration is quite good in the class.
Handling and cornering abilities should be best in class.

Averages about 30 mpg city driving and about 40 highway. Fun and quick little car to drive. Built like a tank. There's never been a time where it has stranded me or not started or anything. No problems at all. Through all the heat and cold, always starts, runs, drives. Look forward to driving my baby into the ground. :) It's a Honda, what else would you expect ? ;)Jul 29, 2009

I've been the owner of this car for a little over a year now, and I must say it is a pretty neat car to drive. The d16y7 motor only puts out around 107hp stock, but with the upgrades I have, I'd say it's more around 125-130. Since the car is so light, with no power steering or air conditioning to slow it down, it accelerates is quite good, as well as the braking. The handling is good as well with the Tein lowering spring i put in. The car looks great too, with the HIDs and 15inch rims. You can't go wrong with the gas mileage either. It takes about 20 dollars to fill my tank, depending on the price of gas of course. It's an overall fun car to drive, and I would recommend it if you get one in good condition.Feb 06, 2009

I like the amount of storage it had and appreciated it more after getting my toyota (very little storage room)... handled well, very easy to maintain with no major problems, 32-36 mpg, style is ok, nice first car that withstood quite a bit... and continues to :)Jan 20, 2009

this is a good car for the preformance with out wasteing any extra cash for gas. The thrill of being able to drive it is above anything i have ever felt in any other vehicle. beyond that the fact that it always is looking good with out to much have to do by me is a large factor in why i purchased it. This is one the best cars I have driven in a long time. It has lots of horse power for its size. Great on gas! I am getting 42mpg highway and 38mpg city! That is if I can keep myself from redlining it at every red light. I would suggest this car to almost anyone.Sep 08, 2008

Too many things to love about the car, tons of aftermarket stuff. Many engine mods available, from full swaps to internal upgrades on the stock motor itself. Very great on gas even with it heavily modded, which not only makes it easy on the wallet but even more of a joy to drive.Sep 01, 2008

Good dependable car with a humming engine and great gas mileage. What I hate is the lack of manual transmission in mine. And a coupe would be more fun. Overall Charlotte (as I call her) is a great little car. Overall this is a great car for first time drivers.Aug 19, 2008

I have owned this car for a little over a year, and it is perhaps the best car I ever drivin since everything is perfect! I only have MINOR things break (parts under $60) and you can easily go 2,000 miles over on an oil change befor realizing you need it changed, EXCELENT Gas millage and the stock clutch is pretty lightweight but I would recommend a replacement at 120,000 miles for an Excedy (or somthing close) but over all it is an excelent car!and easily customizable! (yet you need to make shure the parts are for the Hatchback Model!) Apr 30, 2008

This is the first car that I ever owned and will probably always be somewhat special to me, but not for actual driving. The car was an automatic and had extremely low horsepower and not great handling. But if you want a reliable car to get you from point A to point B that is very inexpensive, then you should get one.Nov 12, 2007
