What’s New for the 2027 Toyota bZ Woodland
The bZ Woodland was all-new in Toyota’s lineup for 2026, so the 2027 version is a carryover model. It features body cladding to protect it from rocks in off-road situations, 8.4 inches of ground clearance, standard all-wheel drive, and available all-terrain tires. It also comes standard with Toyota’s latest tech features, including a 14-inch infotainment screen.
Design
While the bZ Woodland bears a strong resemblance to the regular bZ, the chunky black overfenders are a big cue that differentiates the two vehicles. The bZ Woodland also comes with standard roof rails and an available cross bar. The only wheels available are 18 inches in diameter, but all-season tires are standard on both trims and all-terrain tires are available as a zero-cost option. A panoramic fixed-glass roof is not available on the base bZ Woodland, but is standard on the Premium trim. There are no appearance packages or options.
Powertrain
Both the base and Premium trims come with a dual-motor powertrain, and combined output is 375 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard. The 2027 bZ Woodland comes with a 74.7-kWh battery, and range varies based on whether buyers opt for all-season or all-terrain tires. The former delivers up to 281 miles of range, while the latter drops to 260 miles. The bZ Woodland has North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port compatibility, so it can charge up at Tesla Superchargers. It can accept a charge at 150 kW, and will take approximately 30 minutes to go from 10% to 80% capacity using DC fast charging. As a more capable version of the bZ, the bZ Woodland has 8.4 inches of ground clearance and can cope with some mild off-roading. It has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.
Interior
The 2027 Toyota bZ Woodland seats five passengers, but offers less legroom than most of its competitors. However, what it lacks in passenger space, it gains in cargo capability. It has 33.8 cubic feet behind the second row and has a maximum load capacity of 74.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat, which comfortably bests most competitors. Standard interior seating surfaces are synthetic leather in either tan or black. Heated front and rear seats are standard, and ventilated front seats and a front radiant foot-and-leg heater come standard on the Premium trim. Because of the available radiant heating, it’s worth noting that neither the base nor the Premium trim offers a glove box.
Technology
The 2027 bZ Woodland comes with a lot of standard tech features, including a 14-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, two front wireless phone chargers, four USB-C ports, rain-sensing wipers, eight-way power-adjustable front seats, a surround-view camera, and a power liftgate. Upgrading to the Premium trim adds a driver’s memory seat, reverse-tilt side mirrors, a digital rearview mirror, and a nine-speaker JBL premium audio system. The bZ Woodland also offers numerous connected services, including cloud navigation, personalized service updates, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and enhanced roadside assistance.
