The BMW M8 is widely celebrated by owners for its outstanding power and performance, with many considering it an exceptional grand touring car that offers thrilling acceleration and impressive handling. The car's beautiful design adds to its appeal, creating a luxury experience while driving. However, some drivers express concerns about the cramped rear seating, especially for taller passengers, and find the racing seats may not be comfortable for larger individuals.

BMW offers a staggering number of variants for many of its vehicles, with the high-end 8 Series alone currently available in so many different configurations that they outnumber some automakers’ entire model lines. Variation is a good thing, though, and here that means that BMW offers the M8, a high-performance version of its flagship 8 Series lineup.
The 2022 M8 is offered in three body styles: convertible, coupe, and Gran Coupe (sedan). Regardless of how many doors it has, all M8s get the same fire-breathing twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8. It’s rated at a staggering 617 horsepower and should be capable of helping the big car accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds, according to BMW. Power reaches all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox, but the car has the capability to switch off front power for rear-only driving.
Elsewhere, the M8 features several performance upgrades over its 8 Series counterparts. It gets an M-developed electric power steering system, an active M differential, adaptive suspension, 20-inch M wheels, a carbon roof, and an M rear spoiler.
The M8 builds on the standard 8 Series cars with standard extended Merino leather upholstery, carbon-fiber interior trim, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with 464-watt amplifier. Like the 8 Series, the M8 gets a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen that runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s also Bluetooth, navigation, and over-the-air updates. Joining that, there’s a 12.3 digital instrument display, which can mirror infotainment features such as mapping and audio information, as well as vehicle performance data.
The 2022 M8 hasn’t been crash-tested yet, but BMW offers several standard and optional advanced driver-assist features. The car comes standard with adaptive brake lights, adaptive LED headlights, automatic high beams, a rearview camera, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, automatic city collision braking, and adaptive cruise control. Two driver-assistance packages are available and bring features such as blind-spot monitoring, a surround-view 3D camera system, parking distance sensors, lane departure warnings, and a built-in dashcam.
Pricing for the 2022 M8 starts at $130,995, which includes a $995 destination charge. The M8 Convertible starts at $140,495. The cars can be configured now on BMW’s website.
