Why would my 2002 Nissan Maxima turn off while im turning the steering wheel

Your power steering pump can be faulty putting drag on the engine stalling it. Get it checked out.

Some vehicles have a power steering fluid pressure switch which is supposed to close and increase your engine speed when pressure in the system is high to prevent stalling. Like when the wheel is turned all the way to either the left or rogjt. If your vehicle has one it may be faulty. HTH. -Jim
