Why 2001 navigator have engine problems after changing 7 ignition coils and spark plugs.
5.4 intech motor. Why does a 2001 navigator have engine problems after changing 7 ignition coils and spark plugs. in the motor.. The diagnostic read that only #6 was misfiring. I could not access #8 because the e.g.r. pipe was directly in the way. Still sputtering and losing power going uphill. Need suggestions please
Do you have any check engine light? I don;t think changing 7 vs 8 would be the issue. But if you the misfire for some time before you changed them out you might have clogged the catalytic convertor. (unburnt fuel clogs the cats) Have it checked out by a local mechanic.
This is not the answer, cats are fine and misfire still on the same cylinder... Change the plug on the missing cylinder, run for ten minutes, after cooling (VERY IMPORTANT) remove the plug and examine. if the sparkplug is totally clean, not even a burnt fuel smell, your injector is bad ! Change it and you'll be gravy :-)
Check the pic hose Goin from passenger side to in take it burns hole in it I did the same changed out bunch plugs throwing codes like 6 all it was a 3$ hose I got .....smh
