Catalytic converter problem

Asked by Gameover2 Mar 17, 2018 at 11:31 AM about the 2003 Lincoln Navigator Luxury 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2003 Lincoln navigator didn't have any power. It would
barley go pass 2000 rpm. I replaced both o2 sensors. Still
nothing. I pulled the lower o2 sensor back out. Started the
navigator back up. Power came back. So my question is
which catalytic converter is bad

Would the back pressure have anything to do with the dpfe sensor? My dpfe sensor was melted, but I replaced that one from out the junkyard.

If you pulled the O2 sensor out and started it and the power is back then the catalytic converter is plugged. I would replace all the converters. Excessive heat from the exhaust due to a plugged catalyst could cause the DPFE sensor to go bad.
