I have a 2003 Navigator and for a while now it bucks a lot and cuts off while driving but will start right back up but will do it again as a drive it. Cleaned MAF and it stopped for a couple of days.

Have you checked the tps?

No. Makes me so mad, bucks, cuts off but starts right back up. I also noticed a strong exhaust odor, not like a cat just exhaust and it is slight brown.

Pretty much but when I cleaned the maf and other sensor next to it I had no problems for a couple of days. Some days it really bad and will cut off while driving other days not as bad,

If it doe,s it randomly,may want to check fuel pressure to rule out,fuel pump,and may not hurt to check tps and crank sensor.

Engine light on?

Just strange because it idles high when I start it, and the strong exhaust odor, would think if it was the coils it would do it all the time. I had a great mechanic but he closed up shop a couple years back, dealers around me are none for ripping people off. Thanks

How can I check the fuel pressure, would somebody like Advanced have a tool I could rent.

Sorry, yes the check engine light is on. Also a while back I changed the drivers side cat because it was glowing and the new one did it not to long ago. New cars are such a pain, 67 in line 6 is so easy to work on and all the parts are cheep.

Yes you can rent a fuel pressure guauge with a small deposit and get your money back.Autozone or advance.

Just wanted to see what you found out because I have a 2003 Navigator with a check engine light on, idles high when I start it and sometimes it bucks and will even cut off while driving but starts right back up. Also strong fumes from the exhaust, not egg either.

Did anyone find out what it was ?? I have the same problems
