Elantra repair. Reasonable?

Asked by Jan 21, 2014 at 08:53 PM about the 2002 Hyundai Elantra GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mechanic gave me a $1400 estimate for "ride control poor due to front struts, drivers side inner tie rod end, front and back sway bar links and bushings and wheel alignment."
Do you think this is reasonable?

Extremely high. You can buy both quick struts on ebay for less than $300. $50 for End links. Inner tie rod $40 Alignment $100 Labor $3-400. I gave you a rough high estimate of $900. Take it somewhere else and get an estimate.

Second opinion...Ditto. tuff4x4 is right. Assuming all those components are even really failed, that is too much to pay.
