what is the repair procedure on a 2013 elantra sterring wheel sensor
The abs and traction control light is on the tech found that the steering angle sensor has failed. I would like to know what the procedure is to fix this problem. My car is a 2013 elantra.
If it is one behind the steering wheel, I would recommend that you let the pros do it cause it also involves the air bag system, and you don't want to set that system off while it's getting work performed on that clockspring unit.
I so much appreciate your answer. what I was trying to find out from my first quote from a Hyundai dealer ship that the steering wheel had to be replaced and the cost over 1700.00 to change the sensor. I thought that was odd so tried to check with other sources and I was told that it did not make since that the steering wheel had to be replaced. I was trying to find the correct procedure so I am not ripped off. I have to have the dealer ship do this is because it hast to be calibrated. I just can't believe it would 1700.00..
You DO NOT need to go to a dealer to have this fixed, there are independent shops out there that have the equipment and the Techs that know how to fix this problem, so save yourself some money and call around and find a shop that can save you a bunch of cash.
Thank you for that information.:)
