Does anyone know where the alternator is located on a 2002 Hyundai Elantra GLS?

Asked by Apr 22, 2013 at 01:50 PM about the 2002 Hyundai Elantra GLS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car won't start unless I jump start the battery, then it only stays charged for a limited time. So I bought a brand new battery and the vehicle stayed charged overnight and then was dead this morning. A friend can install the alternator for me, but it will depend on how easy he can get to it. Any ideas?

If the battery was dead the next morning, you have a draw/drain on the battery and it probably isn't the alternator. You'll need to do some diagnostic electrical work to find it.

The alternator is right infront the radiator fans just look down right there.
