I replaced the SWAYBAR LINK on a Honda Civic LX 2001 and now have a thunking noise?
My Honda 2001 Civic's swaybar link broke on the front driver's side. I replaced it, but now I as I drive down the street, every time I hit the slightest bump, the car makes a thunking noise that I can't ignore. Possibly related: when I turn left, I get a scraping noise from the front. The brakes are good. New pads, rotars are fine. Suggestions would be appreciated.
you missed a bushing somewhere...retrace you steps...inspect the one you took off of there...butyl rubber degrades at an embarrassing rate, Neoprene, silicone and other man-made substances are better...perhaps your new bushings are made from neoprene....perhaps you forgot to put any bushings in there, that's why the clucking~
"scraping sound from the front" sounds like a wheel bearing is worn or not tightened properly...does it track straight and true or does it swim from one side to the other and is like pushing a rope?
