Why is my honda civic getting hot?

Asked by Goat_man Apr 08, 2020 at 08:12 PM about the 2004 Honda Civic LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2004 honda civic gets hot during idle after
driving.  If I hold the rpm around 1600, I can
watch the temp gauge fall back to normal.
Fans seem to run as normal.  I have replaced
the radiator, thermostat and temp sensor.  Any
other ideas?

Bad water pump or air in the cooling system.

I was afraid it might be the water pump. I hear it is a pain to change. Thanks for the help
