I just replaced my ignition switch on my 1983 ford f150 and the motor cranks over with the ignition in the off position what is the problem?

I believe that your ignition switch is a slider type, located at the lower end of the steering column. The mounting holes are an oval shape for adjustment. Sounds like the new switch is out of adjustment. HTH. -Jim
