Can you use 255/50 R20 size tires on 2014 Range Rover Sport HSE?
Land Rover specifies 255/55 R20. Recently swapped out Michelin Latitude Sport OEM
255/55 R20 for Pirelli Scorpion Verde Plus and shop inadvertently put on 255/50 R20 but
tells me no difference and OK. Should I tell them to replace them with 255/55 R20s?
The overall diameter variance of the new tire is -1.00 inches, which is -3.05% different than the original. You should never go beyond 3% of the original tire, otherwise you run the risk of brake failure. Plus your speedo off, slower by 2mph. I suspect the shop didin't have the correct size in stock. I would argue to get the recommended size installed.
It's a new vehicle that is probably under warranty, I can only see doing something like that on a beater car.
