Drivers Door Lock Problems 2003 Focus

I have a 2003 ford focus,,, The drivers door will not unlock using the remote or by the button on the inside of the car( the button has no movement and is jammed) the door will only lock with manually with the key. Passenger side is fine and operates via remote and inner button

Are you saying you need a new driver's side switch? a master switch. If you remove the switch from the connector, can you operate the driver lock actuator by providing a power and ground, then swapping them to make it actuate the other way? if it tests good, just the switch, if not, you need to replace the actuator and check the door latch, then reevaluate the remote operation once the diag is completed and the parts are renewed.

It's pretty cramped in that little door, if you are very large and have long arms you may have to lift and support that side of the vehicle for access.

Thank you for the response! The car has been like this since I bought it (just over a year ago) and haven't got round to looking at it until today. Turns out that for some reason the plug for the electrics wasn't even connected!!! Connected it back up and all functions fine,,,, cant believe it! Thanks anyway great advice

Oh, you say the plug going up into the master switch in the drivers door fell off? like a missing fastener, perhaps. Great.
