transmission slipping

Could I need transmission fluid on my 1994
BMW this the reason why is slipping it shifts
from first to second smoothly  but not in  
third gear

Might be too late once a trans starts to slip. So you might want to have the trans serviced, meaning replace the fluid and filter. See if that helps, if not, you have more going on.
