i had a similar problem with '96 Chevy truck and the fuel injectors were clogged

Not really , the power surge may have gave a sensor a kick in the ass for a little more life or something . Are there any codes ?
truck will not accelerate ,unhooked battery and the truck runs normally could this have fixed it?
