Toyota tundra 2018 will not start
Asked by Michael Nov 02, 2022 at 09:46 PM about the 2018 Toyota Tundra SR5 CrewMax 5.7L 4WD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Truck died when I hit a deep pot hole going down
some rough road. Tried starting again and cranks
strong but will not start.
Looked for loose wiring or blown fuses.
Was told it was an fuel cut off switch and cannot find
anything about where it may be.

No fuel cutoff. I have heard of this happening before and in both cases the fuel pump was damaged during impact. A quick way to check is spray a little starter fluid in the intake while cranking, if it fires up even slightly then for sure the pump has died.
This is a thirty-thousand dollar truck and rather than spend a few bucks to fix it, you put up with it not running and ask for help online. Does this sound sane to you? Just see a Toyota mechanic; he'll diagnose this quickly.
The issue is being in the middle of nowhere and having it towed to the nearest mechanic and being 8hrs away from home. Spending that money on a mechanic vs a quick fix or to determine exactly what it is and fix it my self is ridiculous. But anyway it was only a sensor on the back of my cold air intake that has been installed for a couple years. Just happen to get jarred off.
