Air conditioner

Asked by Apr 17, 2016 at 04:49 PM about the 2009 Honda Civic EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2009 civic.
Recently my ac stopped blowing cold air, my buddy
who is a auto part specialist said that my high
pressure is bleeding in to the low pressure side not
allowing the clutch/compressor(?) to engage. Is the
options? Do I need to replace?

Only real way too tell if that is actually happening is with set of charging gauges, if that is actually happening then something is wrong with the expansion valve. Normal pressures should be 30 to 35 low side and 150 to 175 high side. You may have to jumper the low pressure switch to get the unit to run long enough to get accurate pressure reading.
