What do I need to know when looking to purchase a 1972 Mustang Grande? I am a novice, but love that car

Rust could be a very costly problem. You should also buy a car that has the original engine and transmission. Cars with incorrect engines are worth a lot less. Missing parts and trim can be a lot of trouble to track down so try to find a complete car.

Thank you that's helpful. A nationally classic car consignor dealership is selling it and states that it has "ORIGINAL H-CODE 351 CAR, FACTORY A/C, MARTI REPORT". I am inquiring about the transmission, missing parts and trim. Hopefully it will work out. It's a bidding type thing and I have no idea what a car like that would be worth.
