Saab 97-X is stuck in Reverse.

I am able to insert the key and turn it, but car wont turn over. All the lights and radio
comes on, but engine won't start and I can't get it out of Reverse.

OK- waiting for the Saab experts- anybody? Don't feel left out eps- at least I answered- too bad I know nothing about Saabs- except they are weird-
