I just purchased a single new rear tire on the right side. Now my car sounds like a jet plane while driving. what is causing this noise?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The back tire picked up an enormous bolt in the tread and the Ford dealer
could not fix it.  As I had purchased the rear tires from them, I asked for the
same tire to be installed.  Since the tire was changed, the noise level inside
the vehicle is ridiculously loud.  Is this from the tire?

I also noticed the little wrench indicator lit up one day, but went off and has
not gone on again.  Is this related to the tire and/or the noise,  or the
powertrain as the owner's manual suggests?

If you rig is an AWD your wrecking your transfercase, all the tires need to be within 2/32 of each other otherwise transfer case failure is likely. If your rig is not an AWD then something is wrong with the rear differential, possibly spider gears or limited slip clutches.
