Car was on freeway and came to rolling stop. Engine was on but repeated attemts to engage transmission failed. Warning lights came on but car was not hot. Could turn off engine and resart but transmission would not engage. After an hour or so everythin worked and drove 20 minuited on freeway home.

Start with the basics, check your fluid level, a low fluid level will cause the transmission to not engage at low speeds, making it seem car is in neutral.
