AC fine part of the time but then short cycles

Asked by Aug 01, 2013 at 07:06 PM about the 2006 Mazda MAZDA3 s Touring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Mazda 3 ac cycles on for about 1/2 sec then off for a few secs. Had system checked and
has full charge but when compressor is off pressure RISES to 90 lbs or so. Had another
shop put it on computer and they told me the cycle switch was bad. What really gets me
is sometimes it works just fine when first started up. I am baffled and hate to spend the $
to buy a switch if it's not gonna help. HELP please!
