New Beetle Star Crack! Advice re Replacing Windshield Please
I'm getting ready to sell my 2004 New Beetle in excellent condition but....it got a star crack size of a quarter in the top middle of the windshield. Totally not obvious if you're driving. We didn't fix it to save money. Will spending $200 to replace the windshield be recouped with the purchase price? Your thoughts are appreciated.
get a glass repair place to fix the star by filling it with epoxy- this will be considerably less expensive (around 50 or so)- it may still be a little bit visible, but it will stop the crack from spreading, and if it isn't in the direct line of sight, it shouldn't be noticeable if they do it right. I hope this helps.
We did have the glass epoxy repair done and it's still a bit noticeable. We're advertising the car (with the star crack photo attached), which as you say isn't very noticeable. It will be fun to see how well it sells. Thanks for the info. I appreciate your insight and... well, we agree with you! So you must be right! Thanks!
