Why does my 99 VW beetle not start sometimes?!
Its very frustrating, we've done over 3 grand of work on the car and its still not perfect. I don't want to give up on it but I can't go anywhere without it stranding me somewhere for hours.
check the wires on the starter they will coroade all power goes through these wires they can have bad conection
The ignition switch could be your problem, if you turn the key on and you have dash lights, that does not mean the ignition switch is good.. it could have a problem in the start position. you can go to the starter and try to jump it with the key on,,make sure you are in park with the brake on,, if it starts by jumping it, then turn it off and there should be a start wire on the starter, take a test light and ground the clip end and while putting the test light on the start wire have someone turn key to start position, if there is no power you may have a bad ignition switch or fuse or wire..
