2002 Golf. ON COLD STARTS Oil Temperature gauge automatically in the center at all times on

Asked by GO_6 Feb 14, 2009 at 01:57 PM about the 2002 Volkswagen Golf GL 2.0 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Every time I start my car the oil temp gauge (upper left corner) automatically goes to the middle(190)of the gauge, now I know that's never a problem when your running and turning on the car hot. But it is even doing at cold starts after 3 or more hours of not moving the car.

I'm wondering if it has to do with the oil or something more complicated.

Can any one please help.
