Used 2021 Volkswagen Golf for Sale near Los Angeles, CA
Overview
FAQs
The storied, decades-long, run of the Volkswagen Golf will come to an end after the 2021 model year. VW has announced plans to remove the standard Golf from the U.S. market, leaving only the high-performance Golf GTI and Golf R for American buyers. As such, the list of updates for 2021 is short and includes standard 16-inch wheels, push-button start, leatherette upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof.
Volkswagen offers the Golf in just one trim level and with one engine for 2021. The Golf 1.4T is powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter inline-four engine that produces 147 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The engine sends its power to the Golf’s front wheels through either an eight-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox.
Though there’s only one Golf trim available, it’s got many of the most desirable options on board as standard kit. Automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic sunroof, LED daytime running lights, and more come on every single 2021 Golf.
The Golf’s interior is upholstered in leatherette, and comes with a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel. VW offers chrome, aluminum, and piano-black interior trim and finishes for the car. All Golf models come equipped with a 6.5-inch touchscreen display that runs Volkswagen’s MIB2 infotainment software. The screen is capable of swipe and pinch-to-zoom gestures and runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s joined by two USB-C ports, an SD card reader, and Bluetooth that can pair two phones at once.
The 2021 Golf hasn’t been crash-tested yet, but the 2020 model scored well in testing performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), which bodes well for the mostly-carryover new model. Standard safety gear includes blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, LED daytime running lights and taillights, heated side mirrors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, anti-lock brakes, a federally mandated rearview camera, and tire-pressure monitoring. Volkswagen does not offer additional options for the Golf.
The 2021 VW Golf is on sale now. It has a starting price of $24,115, which includes a mandatory $920 destination fee.
