How do I remove the lighter housing from the console on a 2000 Impala

Cig lighter does not work. Need to replace to housing

You'll need to get inside the console. The top most likely just pulls off. Then unplug the electrical connection from the back of the lighter. The back part of the lighter housing unscrews. You'll need to hold the socket in place with your finger while you unscrew the back of the lighter. You may need to use pliers on the back of the lighter to get it started. HTH. -Jim
