Electrical problems! 2000 Cavalier 2,2L Jbody

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have begun to have some electrical problems in 'The Donkey', my 2000
cavalier:
Initially started with dimming of passenger front headlight. The fuse
filament was never actually broken, but it was very very thin compared
to a normal fuse............I replaced it and wa la, the headlamp works
fine, now.

Then, my cigarette lighter/charging port went out. I replaced that fuse
repeatedly thinking it was blowing but the filaments are 100% normal.
After the lighter stopped working, I noticed that the back lights on the
instrument cluster stopped lighting up, the left turn signal is SLOOOOW
and the lights that are on the actual trunk lid do not light up at all.
(just the lights on the trunk LID itself).
I have changed ALL the fuses under the hood and under the drivers
dash area....
I also checked battery ground wire; while it does look a tiny bit rusty in
color, it is in good shape physically.
Ironically, everything else works perfectly, including my cruise control.

I would certainly appreciate any assistance.

***named The Donkey because he has 479800 miles on it and
absolutely ZERO major parts have replaced....Donkey is hands down,
unequivocally, THEE best car I have ever owned.
