when I turn off the dome light over ride button, next morning, battery barely cranks over - Why. This does not happen when Dome over ride is on.

Asked by Jun 27, 2013 at 11:35 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer LT 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have several electrical issues: 1: when I turn off the dome override, my battery is almost dead the next morning. When I turn the dome over ride back on the next morning, after several tries - the battery will kick over and start. 2: cant get the power side mirrors to adjust. 3. key fob will operate the automatic start, but wont lock/unlock doors. 4: Service Engine Soon light came on - I just had plugs, wires, distrbutor changed, oil changed, new alternator, new manifold, new radiator with coolant. HELP!

Is your driver's door sagging? If so, the door may not be closing properly and the dome light stays on and kills the battery. Do you have a spare key fob? Sounds like the one you're using is worn out. Have you checked or replaced the mirror switch? Could be worn out. There are codes stored in the computer if the "check engine" light is on. Have it scanned and post the code(s) here so we can help. Advance auto parts or Autozone will do it for free. HTH. -Jim
