97 CRV poor mileage after distributor replaced

We just had the distributor replaced in our 97 CRV and the engine is running quite nicely.
However, we can almost see the gas gauge dropping now as we drive. Can this be a
timing issue?

Yes, double check the ignition timing. If it's spot on and still no improvement exchange it for another one. You may have got a defect. HTH. -Jim
